In July 2019, we dedicated a new Second Floor Terrace Garden at the RMC in honor of Ed Epperson, our recently retired and long-time CEO. If you haven’t seen the garden, we highly recommend a visit. (Best view is by accessing the “B” elevator to the third floor, and looking down.)
The garden is a whimsical look at nature and evokes a spirit of childhood innocence. We’ve all grown-up but, in reality, we hope we never indeed truly “grow up”. In childhood we loved without limits, we believed the impossible could happen, and we thought fun was an everyday event. A day fishing in the stream was as much about splashing and jumping as it was about hooking the elusive trout (an insider comment for those who’ve already visited the garden). Our new garden can re-kindle these childhood joys within us all. Most of all, for a brief moment, it can help us put aside the worries and frustrations of the day and remember there is always hope.
