We help prevent, delay, or manage diseases and medical conditions through nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy. Medical nutrition therapy is the management of medical conditions through nutritional intervention.

Nutrition counseling may be covered as a benefit by your insurance company, though it may require preauthorization. Our scheduling department will work with you to determine whether nutrition care services will be covered. You may be required to self-pay for your nutrition appointment if your insurance does not cover nutrition education or medical nutrition therapy.

Carson Tahoe supports and participates in local community efforts to provide for our area residents in need. We work closely with Friends in Service Helping (FISH), and Remote Area Medical (RAM). Additionally, we donate fresh produce harvested from our garden at the Regional Medical Center.
At Carson Tahoe, we believe that diabetes education and self-management training are integral components of diabetes care. Carson Tahoe’s objective is to help you sustain your health while lowering your risk of diabetes related complications. Our program, certified by the American Diabetes Association, will provide you with your own diabetes team of professionals including nurse educators and registered dietitians to help you TAKE CHARGE of your diabetes.
