Dr. Carl Juneau is a board certified cardiologist at Carson Tahoe Cardiology (CTC) with over 25 years of experience in interventional techniques. Coming from a family riddled with heart disease, his interests led him to intervention: coronary angioplasties, pacemakers, and defibrillators. Dr. Juneau and his CTC colleagues Dr. Stephen Tann and Dr. Nathan Ho are the only three cardiologists in Northern Nevada who routinely uses the radial artery in the wrist for vascular access, thus minimizing discomfort and recovery time. He has performed over two thousand angioplasties, and is highly sought after for difficult and complicated cases.
As the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at CTRMC, Dr. Juneau is excited about the advances in treatment of acute coronary blockage. “By getting the coronary bloodflow reestablished within 60 minutes, we are seeing tremendous results in reducing or even erasing cardiac damage,” he explains.
“Carson City has been wonderful for us,” he says, “I will be forever indebted to the people here.” He refers to the time his daughter had a respiratory arrest and was cared for in the Emergency Room. Skilled nursing and respiratory care saved her. She’s graduating from college this year. When his son was struggling in grade school, he received special help at Bordewich Bray and is now in college studying physics.
Dr. Juneau received his MD from the University of Ottowa, his Internal Medicine training at McGill University, his Cardiology at University California San Diego and his Interventional training at the Montreal Heart Institute.
When he is not working, he can be found walking the golf course or hiking the trails with his wife and their dogs.
